Spyro Prime
Cast of Characters
If you have visited this page before June 12, please note that two new profiles (Naven and Scioness Djari) have been added, as well as an update to Maiko's picture, and the addition of blood statistics to the dragon profiles.
The page you are at right now contains information on key characters and organizations in the Spyro Prime storyline. Minor characters are not listed. Because the page contains so much information, a navigation key has been provided for you. To return to the key once you are through reading a section, simply press the 'back' button on your browser.
Note: 'Blood' for dragons refers to their ancestry, which tends to affect their personality and abilities. Dragonflies do not have the same standards of blood, and a femarian's blood can be determined at a glance.
Spyro ~ Sparx ~ Sadiki ~ Reena ~ShadowSpyro ~ShadowSparx ~ ShadowSadiki ~ Mai'ko ~ Scioness Djari
Age: 16
(Teenager)
Homeworld: Beast Makers (Dragon)
Father: Sadiki
Mother: Unknown
Blood: Beast Maker - Peace Keeper
Background: Considering the fact he was a young dragon who skipped school just to go the Artisan lands for one day, he's had a brillant run of luck. He's a very skilled warrior, having taken on slews of enemies: Gnasty Gnorc, Ripto, a sorceress whose name is as forgotten as her world... you name it! He was supposed to have four more years of learning, but his accomplishments against Gnasty Gnorc have scaled that barrier for him.
Over the years, he has had to deal with strange black-skinned thieves though a few have stolen items such as lamps or gems, the bulk of them have stolen dragon eggs! Or tried to steal them, anyway... Spyro's caught many of those thieves.
Personality: Spyro's still a headstrong, cocky character, and while he may have graduated years ahead of his time, his mentality was still that of a first-year student. Sparx has had to make sure he could take care of himself. He's also been wary of the opposite gender and love until recently, which is a shame considering he's only recently met a female dragon!
Relations: Spyro's been laying low and waiting to turn twenty, at which point he'll be able to access the treasure he's accumulated over the years. In the meantime, his father has been pressing him to get married... something which Spyro still has almost no understanding about, except that he knows he won't like it if he has to be told to do it.
Age: 17 (Adult)
Homeworld: Artisan (Dragon)
Father: N/A
Mother: N/A
Background: Sparx has been Spyro's best friend from day one they've seen it all together. When Spyro was trying to find a safe haven to skip his lessons at, Sparx suggested they head to Artisans, not only because the State of the Kingdom address was being made that day, but also because there were lots of butterflies to eat. In hindsight, it was a pretty good choice.
Personality: Sparx is a cautious character, and has often brought it upon himself to make sure that Spyro doesn't get himself killed every five seconds. Unfortunately, this caution also translates into being a bit of a coward, since he usually flies off after taking a few hits. He's also a greedy little insect, always wanting to eat butterflies. If Spyro can't supply enough to feed Sparx, he'll fly off for a while.
Relations: Sparx has found himself a fiancee named Korai in the last year, and has tried (desperately) to explain relationships and love and all that to Spyro. Unfortunately, Spyro's been a bit pigheaded, and tried to resign it all as something dragons just don't do.
Age: 75 (Adult)
World: Beast Makers (Dragon)
Father: N/A
Mother: N/A
Blood: Beast Maker-Beast Maker
Background: Anyone that thinks being a single parent is easy... tell that to Sadiki. He's had to raise Spyro ever since he hatched, as his mother, Sabri, died while laying the clutch.
Prior to Spyro's hatching, Sadiki was a successful scientist, recreating species which had died out due to dragon development, and causing mutations in current species to help stop the spread of certain diseases. Unfortunately, his work fell into decline while taking care of Spyro, which made him take time out of business to rear a dragon.
Recently, he's been getting back into buisness, and has been working on a new skill which is turning important, what with his son's accomplishments Portal making. He still wishes he could go back to the way things were, but it's work, and it's getting him somewhere.
Personality: With a great deal of experience, he's a very good teacher for Spyro. This is very helpful, as Spyro still has plenty to learn he may be the best warrior the Dragon Worlds have seen in one hundred years, but he's no adult yet. His maturity has led him to be easy going, but he is still very skeptical.
Relations: Sadiki has never told Spyro about Sabri, or even that he had a mother at all. His reasoning is that when Spyro would be ready to listen, he would tell, but he hasn't told yet. In the meantime, he's had to lie to him and say Spyro was made by his own hands, like Sadiki had made other animals. This was sufficent enough for Spyro when he was a small hatchling... but is it good enough now?
Age: 15
(Teenager)
Homeworld: Draco Reaches (Shadow)
Father: N/A
Mother: N/A
Blood: Peace Keeper - Peace Keeper
Background: Reena wasn't born into temple work... she was dragged into it. Both of her parents had died from an ADC raid when she was just a year old, so her memory about them is very limited. Mai'ko and the other temple workers have had to raise her since. She was brought up into temple work as a deterrent from being killed in later raids. Surprisingly, the raids have been few and far between since the raid that killed her parents.
Personality: Reena's a smart little dragon. She's not much of a match physically (Although no one would be too willing to test that), but mentally, she's a genius. She still harbors a grudge against the ADC for killing her parents, which is to be expected, but she's also been on the edge of technology, utilizing new inventions and machines that may give her an edge and anything that gives her an edge can be used to fight against the ADC. Mai'ko has tired to get Reena to accept her fate as a temple worker, but it hasn't worked; she just wasn't meant to be working in a temple, and she never will... it's merely another step.
Relations: Over the last year, Reena has been dating ShadowSpyro on the sly, trying to be careful that Mai'ko never revealed their love or that ShadowSpyro's father never found out. However, she keeps referring to her new guest as "Spyro Prime", and doesn't want to stop anytime soon. As Spyro's first female influence, she's got a lot to teach him about how the opposite gender acts...
Age:
16 (Teenager)
Homeworld: Draco Reaches (Shadow)
Father: ShadowSadiki
Mother: ShadowSabri
Blood: Beast Maker - Peace Keeper
Background: Unlike the Spyro we know, his alternate has led quite an alternate lifestyle. For one thing, his mother's still alive (ShadowSabri works as recordskeeper at the library in Sushi Shores), and he's never had to deal with Gnorcs or the like.
Unfortunately, he's had a far different dillemma from Spyro he had to go through training. While he's progressed nicely with using his staff, his legs are considerably weaker, and make it difficult for him to stand and walk on two legs for extended periods. He would have finished his schooling by now, but his father is still convinced that if he can't walk, he can't fight. So he's been held back for about a year.
This has caused a bit of social conflict, as he's begun to learn the intricacies of dating and love. Normally, it wouldn't be a problem, but there's a provision in the Student's Code against dating. Not wanting to break the rules for fear that ShadowSadiki would break his neck in return, he has kept his year-long relationship with Reena a secret.
Personality: He's a bit ostenatious when trying to take ideas from anyone other than his father, and he also has less of a backbone against authority. Despite these traits (or maybe because of them), he still manages to get himself into trouble.
Relations: Spyro's appearance is a bit of a threat to him, as he might cause his father to work him harder or take Reena away from him. He'll try as good as he can to keep his distance from Spyro. This, however, could cause more trouble for both Spyros.
Age: 17
(Adult)
Homeworld: Prisma Tors (Shadow)
Father: N/A
Mother: N/A
Background: ShadowSparx spent his first few years in Prisma Tors, watching the faeries and their military training. At seven years old, he headed for Draco Reaches, where he eventually met ShadowSpyro and befriended him.
He finished up his learning in Draco Reaches at Rose Garden, but still stays around to help ShadowSpyro learn what he needs to learn as well. After all, isn't that what friends are for?
Personality: ShadowSparx is a fiercely loyal character, as well as a clear-headed thinker. His common sense has helped to save ShadowSpyro more than once from being caught in trouble. His loyalty, however, has caused himself to stay off of the dating market until ShadowSpyro can graduate and announce his relationship with Reena.
Relations: He tends to go off on his own now and then, especially if ShadowSpyro isn't doing anything important. However, being a dragonfly is sometimes not the best thing to be...
Age: 143
(Adult)
Homeworld: Draco Reaches (Shadow)
Father: N/A
Mother: N/A
Blood: Beast Maker - Beast Maker
Background: For over 70 years, Sadiki had been a tanksteed (fancy word for whoever carts around the troops and food) for the faerie military. After getting his right foreleg blown about thirty-eight years ago at the Lightning Rebellion, he had to retire and return to work as a teacher/scientist.
On an ADT raid (this one was a few years before the one that killed Reena's parents), many of his and ShadowSabri's eggs from their clutch had broken only three were unscathed, and from those three, only ShadowSpyro had hatched.
ShadowSabri and he have had to share responsibility of taking care of ShadowSpyro as time went on He mostly dealt with educating him on combat, and she educated him on the normal respects of intelligence. He thinks it's worked rather well.
Personality: ShadowSadiki is stubborn, aging, and has a low tolerance for insubordination (mostly from his military background). However, his old age has begun to get the better of him, starting with his eyesight. He requires contacts to see detail for his scientific work, but he does not wear them often. Staying still and appearing as natural cover (e.g. fodder, trees, bushes) will usually cause him to lose intrest. His hearing and scent tracking are still optimal, however.
Relations: If he's not found nearby ShadowSpyro or his wife, he's difficult to find. However, he can be seen at times treading in swamps near the outskirts of Shade City for supplies, a luxury few dragons can afford to accomplish without being seriously injured. Otherwise, he will usually be off with some old friend of his, dragon or faerie and often in a remote area.
Age: 24
(Adult)
Homeworld: Prisma Tors (Shadow)
Father: N/A
Mother: N/A
Background: Mai'ko was born into a line of Temple priestesses, and has worked on Tahla's behalf all of her life. She is currently next in line to take on the role of faerie priestess (it would mean a promotion to the Prismatic Temple, not to mention broadening her powers to a new level of spells). Mai'ko currently works at the Draconian Temple with Reena as a disciple.
Personality: Though not as skilled as Reena, Mai'ko has a great memory for the tomes as well as details, and is deeply pacific in nature, preferring not to attack and belittle opponents of the church. That job is reserved for Reena. She also is on the alert for new current events, which at times result in her having to lock the gateways to the other temples, the easiest method of travel between lands.
Relations: Many dragons come to Reena for outside advice, as well as to arrange ceremonies for funerals, blessings, rites, weddings, etc. She can also be found around the temple collecting funds.
Age:
17 (Teenager)
Homeworld: Draco Reaches (Shadow)
Father: Emperor Nestor
Mother: Empress Suri
Blood: Artisan - Peace Keeper
Background: Never let it be said that just being rich and famous (or being a daughter of said rich and famous parents) means trouble never gets you. Djari was a victim of the 'Raid Before the Pause', a six-day melee that left ten dragons dead and over a hundred wounded. She was captured in the Monarchial temple (where she was serving her apprenticeship) during the first day of the raid, and held as a tortured hostage until the military finally intervened and rescued her, along with a young adult and a hatchling.
Djari's mind was scarred from the attack, as fell as the left side of her face, which was discolored and malformed badly from acid torture. Djari now wears a mask on that side to hide the marks, and still works at the Monarchial Temple, albeit with strict military protection.
Personality: Although naturally creative and skilled with the law, Djari's capture has given her a fear of femarian hybrids, as well as any suspicious-looking liquid (one that has a acrid smell, bubbles, and/or hisses upon contact). She tends to stay inside the sheltered palace when she is not at the temples, and is used to above normal security measures, although she is not paranoid.
Relations: She is one of ShadowSpyro's cousins (same maternal grandparents) and helps Djari from time to time. Is either at the palace, in one of the temples, or with her parents tending to 'royal business'.
Age: 4,323 (is considered immortal, due to lack of aging)
Homeworld: Draco Reaches (Shadow)
Mother: None
Father: None
Background: Cairo technically was never even a child she was a Faerie/Mari hybrid developed by a 'Beast Maker' dragon known as Rashoul in Draco Reaches. Her immortality can be traced back to a trait she was given when she was created it allowed her to regenerate flesh on command quickly, from skin grafts to whole organs and limbs. This allowed her to recreate herself as long as she was conscious enough to do so.
Once she escaped Rashoul, she developed that ability into being able to create whole new bodies and with these bodies came new shadows. After a close call a few years later (she had lost her entire lower half, blacked out, and then awoke just before she would have died) She began to utilize this new skill with a vengance, creating multiple bodies (many were hybrids, like herself) so that she could not die completely. Although she could 'recall' a body at will, the shadow was not recallable, and would reside in the original 'Cairo' while its body was not in existance. Cairo tends to refer to herself as a 'collective' of shadows, and has learned to deal with having many shadows in one body.
Personality: Even though Cairo may be used to having many shadows in one body, it tends to appear as multiple personalities. The 'original' Cairo often has to intervene between her other selves to set order. Despite the fact that each personality of hers is different, there are similarites; 1. Each shadow has some prejudice (ranging from simple fear to hatred) against dragons, 2. All her personalities are female in nature (Cairo can't figure out how to make a 'male' shadow to go with a male body), and 3. All of them share a collective memory, making secrets difficult to hide from each other. Conversely, it makes for excellent communication and cooperation between themselves.
Note: Cairo's original personality has a deep hatred for dragons in the Shadow Lands, and has grown a hatred for other species of dragons as well.
Relations: All of Cairo's shadows are registered members of the ADC, and a large percentage of them are in positions of power in the Shadow Lands; either in government, religon, or information. Cairo has a veritable chokehold on Shade City, and her efforts are spreading into Prisma Tors. She has left Draco Reaches untouched... for now.
Additional Info Traits of Shadows: Although her personas can be radically different, they all exhibit these traits: None are dragons (the thought of having a dragon shadow makes Cairo sick), All are female (Cairo can make males, but can't make male shadows), and those with the appropiate shade of skin have a black ankh tattooed on the left upper arm (Marian shadows cannot have this tattoo for obvious reasons, but still wear an ankh armband).
Age:
26 (Adult)
Homeworld: Shade City (Shadow)
Mother: Tauren
Father: General Imitri
Background: Naven is a servicer of the Prisma Military, and has crawled up the military ladder faster in four years than most soldiers do in their entire careers. The only reason he hasn't made himself his father's right-hand man is that his father does not approve of Naven's political affiliations, saying they would be dangerous to have if Naven assumed too much power.
In a way, his father's right. Imitri might be a faerie, but Tauren is a hybrid who looks very similar to her son, except that her ears are not pointed. Naven's bloodline through Tauren descends through many hybrids, leading back to a very important ancestor Priestess Xoyto, his great49 grandmother. Cairo, still anxious for a way to activate Xoyto's Disc, has been making sure that the bloodline is passed on, in case blood can help determine how to activate the disc. Consequently, she's gotten her political claws into each and every direct descendant since.
Personality: Bright eyed and intelligent, but on the wrong side. He has no real hatred against dragons and such, but his loyalty to Cairo forces him into some nasty situations. Also, he seems to have fallen in love with one of Cairo's shadows, a marian known as Angel, which may prove to be disaterous Angel can't bear children, so by no means is he to marry her. Also, Naven has a lack of common sense that tends to hurt him at times.
Relations: As well as being a high-ranking soldier, Naven is also a key member of the ADC. As the right-hand man to Cairo, he is in a serious position of control, as well as a key researcher and caretaker of Cairo's dragon collection.
Synopsis: The Anti-Dragon Coalition (ADC) is an ancient organization
whose primary goal is to 'support femarian supremecy', which they usually accompish by
tormenting the dragons in various fashions. Although in its early years, the group was
primarily Marian with some femarian hybrids, it now also boasts faeries and some
dragonflies in its ranks. The ADC currently has some 1,500 members, with 72 dragonflies,
538 faeries, and 94 hybrids. Cairo and her other personas account for 113 of those
members.
Background: Cairo herself (along with a few of her personas) started the Anti-dragon movement by preaching from the Prismatic Temple. As years passed, she was barred from promoting such ideas against another form of Tahla and her forces, and thus formed the ADC in response to create an outlet for her hatred of dragons. She then transplanted the coalition to Shade City, which had a high Marian population. As Marians were already at odds with the dragons (there were long-standing disagreements over using dragon eggs for spells, keeping retarded dragons as pets, and harvesting parts from dead dragons for non-medical uses), they were ready to hear Cairo's ideals, and accept them.
Strongholds: The 'official' headquarters, or at least the only one that has information about it released to the public, is a recruiting office in Shade City. The actual headquarters of the ADC is in an area below Draco Reaches which members affectionately call 'Cairo's Crypt', but non-members call it the Clensing Chambers. The Chambers were discovered some years back by one of Cairo's personas, who was a spelunker, and has been kept 'secret' for over 3,700 years. When the Chambers became public knowledge, terrible tales spread about it, which was enough to scare off most future would-be explorers. Those that did try to enter were soon inducted into the ADC, or otherwise never left. To this day, many non-members still believe that the Chambers are a sacred zone of Tahla's more importantly, one zone to be avoided at all costs.
Symbols used by the ADC:
Additional Info Marian Prejudice: Although the ADC is considered a reactionary group, many Marians (and some Faeries, for that matter) still harbor prejudice towards dragons. For this reason, no dragons live in Shade City, except for the one dragon who is a worker at the Marian temple. And that's only because the military's sworn to guard her.
