Twas the night before Christmas
with white snow in the trees,
But for Insomniac Games
It was eighty degrees.
Stockings were hung by
the mailbox with care,
in hopes that their fan mail
would soon all be there.
The Spyro Crew was all tucked
and snug in their air beds
whilst visions of game awards
danced through their heads
With the computers shut off
And Ted Price in his cap,
The crew settled down
for a long winter's nap.
A loud noise woke Ted
and got him to dash.
He went to the window
and threw up the sash.
(that's the bottom part of the window
for you dummies, just so you know)
He peered out the window
and what did he hear
but the drone of ambulance
to treat a reindeer.
He listed to the ambulance
cart the hoofed thing away
allowing a dragon to slip past him;
a dragon carting a sleigh.
Ted blinked as he saw
Spyro near the stockings
with a brunette female faerie
who wished for no talkings.
The faerie was small;
her purple dress gave a twinkle.
Ted was rather certain
she was not old Kris Kringle.
The faerie flew up to the stockings
and filled them with mail;
Spyro backed into the heater
and ended up charring his tail.
Just before the faerie left
she pulled out a large scroll,
tied with a plush red ribbon
to keep it all in control.
She set it above the mantle
and sat down in her sleigh,
buckling up her seat
and harnessing Spyro away.
She tugged on the reins,
and flew through the window.
Ted noticed just then that
the sled left a trail of snow.
As she flew through Silicon Valley,
She shouted before flying out of sight;
"Happy holidays for all
and for all a great night!"
1. Okay... it's pretty easy to see that we didn't get every fan in the world to sign. Either that, or everyone who's signed this note bought a lot of copies. *wink* Still... I was aiming for 1,000 signatures... not 16! I guess that's a blessing in disguise, tho... I had a Christmas Eve panic attack. Not having access to your archives before 8:00 PM on Dec. 24 does that to you.
After finally finishing YOTD, (game-wise, anyway) I'm beginning to notice a few details that popped out after the first time, like the Hebrew writing in the Molten Crater gold (or Japanese - lettering's similar, so I can't tell - hedging my bets on Hebrew, tho), and the fact that you 'recycled' the sky from Metro and Ocean Speedway for Mushroom Speedway. Wonder what else you hid in there...
Happy Holidays, boys, and by the way... good luck on the PS2 excursion...

dragons! Thanks sooo much! Havas Interactive will never top you guys!!!!
Long live Insomniac, and let Spyro's memory travel with you to whatever game you may make,
whatever office you may move into, and whatever fame is brought about to you!

4. Thanks Jekkal for doing this! The Insomniac crew has a special
place in my heart and home and I agree that they need to be thanked for all of their hard
work!! I hate to think of how bored I'd be w/my Playstation had I not found Spyro. Because
of them I've got not only one, but three games to keep me busy! No way will Havas EVER top
Insomniac!!! Please send them a thank you from me!
Thanks!

8. To Jekkal: This is a great idea! We think it's nice of you to remember the people who have worked so hard so we can play.
To all those geniuses at Insomniac:
We appreciate all the planning, programming & creative thinking that has gone into the
Spyro series. All of us have enjoyed getting rid of the day's stress by spending time as
our favourite multi-coloured, three-dimensional reptile of mythic origin. (Well, okay,
sometimes figuring out a speedway is a CAUSE of stress, but at least it's of the enjoyable
variety!) Happy Holidays to all of you & yours, and good luck in your future ventures!
Misty, Tairyn, and Taomi

P.S. In case you were wondering, Jekkal, those are our real names we listed in the Thank You message (although they might not be bad names for Spyro characters!)
(Jekkal's note: Thanks for the P.S., but there's not much point in anyone giving these guys ideas... after all , THEY'RE not making the next Spyro game! Don't try to tempt me, either.)
9. Hello? I would just like to say to everyone at Insomniac Games that you guys made the best Spyro games ever!!!!!!

Thank you for sending this thank-you card, Jekkal
Peace
11. Thanks for the greatest games of all time.

P.S. Er... please rephrase that as: All the way from Disruptor to Spyro: Year of the Dragon, thanks for the greatest games ever.
12. Thank you for all 3 games. They have provided much entertainment and a few challenges to the old brain. I want to wish you good luck in your next endeavor.

15. Dear insomniac, you marvelous, marvelous people,
I want to say thanks for Spyro. His little purple ass has entertained me for
many a night, and is one of the few PSX games that I kept coming back to over
and over. Having been known to play Spyro for nine hours solid one weekend, I
have to congratulate you on a job well done. I introduced my best friend to
Spyro as well, and she is equally addicted (and begging to borrow my copy of
YotD when I've finished it!!!).
Although I haven't quite finished YotD yet (I've finished all the levels except
that last Sparx one - it's so hard, and I found the Sparx levels difficult
anyway!) I am torn between wanting to finish it for the satisfaction, and
wishing it was longer so that I can spend more time playing it!
Thank you, Insomniac, Spyro is brilliant. I'll never forget how victorious I
felt when I defeated Ripto before my friend and got that last elusive Speedway
skill point while she was still battling the Catbat Quartet. Thanks for making
me feel so smug (lol) and thanks for little Spyro.
