Updates
September 13, 2002 Episode 10 of World 2 of the Spyro Prime series, Wings of the Worlds, is up (and it's a doozy!)
As with the ending to the last world's mini-series, give me time to write/draw up Episode 1 for World 3.
July 12, 2002 (Technically) Consider this the
'midnight-hour' issue of Spyro Prime; Not only is this update being written at
midnight, but it's a rather dark point in the plot as well. The new episode, Spyro
the Dragon Sacrifice, is ready to be . . . well, read.
Pretty pictures AND it's on time, too.
New poll up as well. Enjoy.
June 13, 2002 This has to be the quickest I've ever gotten a new episode of Spyro Prime out. It's imageless, but that's the breaks.
Go ahead and read Cascading Conspiracy while the plot's still fresh and thickening.
June 3, 2002 Long time since last update, isn't it? Well, there was a touch of writer's block this time, but I finally finished the newest episode of Spyro Prime, Refuse to Run.
April 21, 2002 Spyro Prime's latest, The Capture of Cairo, is now online.
New poll on the Spyro Prime Page as well.
March 2, 2002 Cloud Cabbie Chaos is up and at 'em.
If you get the chance, go ahead and take the Spyro Prime test. I tested it as 'highest score possible' myself, and since people have been saying that it's very hard, I'll grade on a curve.
January 23, 2002 It's late due to the Science Fair Project from Hell, but Dockets, Dives, and Dumps is ready for reading!
There's a new poll as well. This really isn't one of the bigger updates, but what the hey.
December 9, 2001 Steam, Snow, and Smoke, the third installment of World Two of Spyro Prime, is online.
I will try to put up a profile and pic of Nehi'Nihil up (maybe do a twin profile) sometime later. But I can't right now due to a jammed finger. Stupid splint.
November 15, 2001 Marauders, Merchants, and Money, the next episode of Spyro 2, is online.
I will be updating the resources soon, maybe even over Thanksgiving break. In the meantime, enjoy.
October 6, 2001 World 2 of Spyro Prime is off with a bang, as Another Adventure Awaits is now online.
Thanks to everybody for being so patient. I've already started written work on Part 2, and I'll try to have it ready and online within the next month. Feel free to yell at me come November if it's not up yet. ^_^
August 24, 2001 It's the end of the world as we know it!
The end of World 1 for Spyro Prime, anyway. Read the last issue of Spyro's adventures in Draco Reaches, Trondo Translates to Trouble, now online.
Before anyone asks, this is NOT the end of Spyro Prime - There will be new adventures to kick off World 2 very quickly, since this latest one was one of the more strained episodes for me to write.
July 7, 2001 Part 9 of Spyro Prime, The Rescue of Reena, is now online. Also, I've added some special Spyro Butterflies thet you can use to link to IIWfI.
June 21, 2001 Some basic information about Tahlaism is on the Spyro Prime page as a resource.
June 12, 2001 I'm BACK! Part 8 of Spyro Prime, A Secretive Scioness, is up, along with two new profiles of Scioness Djari and Naven and a new picture of Mai'ko.
April 13, 2001 Part 7 of Spyro Prime, Difficulty Due to Dragons, is now online. Expect a cast profile for Naven soon.
April 10, 2001 After playing a successful prank, I have updated Cairo's picture with a more... proportionate drawing at the Cast of Characters. Cairo's old portrait can be found at the Secret Spyro Art Page.
March 24, 2001 While I SHOULD be doing homework, I'm here updating the mailing list so that you can subscribe without having to pick up a Yahoo! ID. Hope this makes you wanna join...
March 9, 2001 Part 6 of Spyro Prime, Cuffed at the Crater, is now online. It's worth a good read... reveals a bit about the history of the ADC, as well as where ShadowSparx has gone and hidden himself off to.
February 28, 2001 Last day of February, and I've finally switched the links from the soon-to-be-demolished Dragon Arena to the new Dragon Arena II!
February 18, 2001 Part 5 of Spyro Prime, Fight, Fight, Fight!, is now online. Also, I'd like to know a simple question that I've been pondering... should I get a domain? The costs don't seem as daunting now, and since my dad already has one for himself, It isn't like I'll be operating all on my lonesome. Tell me what you think on the message board.
Note: I'm not talking about a domain JUST for Spyro- most likely, I'll do like Beau and have something like www.lby3.com, with lots of little subsites.
January 27, 2001 Well, Part 4 of Spyro Prime is two weeks late, thanks to a little spat at Dragon Arena. Actually, it's becuase it took me that damn long to find a beta reader. The people on the SpyroManiacs list need to get Instant Messenger so I don't have to keep depending on Helaine... it's lonely being the only one to critique me on this, y'know? At the very least, e-mail me the screen names so I can keep track on my buddy list.
In any case, Part 4 of Spyro Prime, Surprise and Shore Shock, is now online, as well as a *NEW* picture of Reena. Knock yourself out, babyface.
Also, the old pictures of Spyro Prime have been relegated to the Secret Art page.
December 30, 2000 Well, I've got good news for you: I've just made the updates I talked about last installment (see below) to Spyro Prime! It's all in the resources, however. Expect the next episode of Spyro Prime to be due later, but this should tide everyone over in the meantime.
December 25, 2000 All of you who have been following the exploits of Operation Thank You can now go see the note I sent to Insomniac Games. Even if you've already read the messages at Dragon Arena, I've also added a message of my own and my personal rendition of 'The night before Christmas'.
With the season comes gifts, and one of those gifts (or more precisely, an uber-late Bat Mitzvah gift) for me was a new computer. With all of the importing of new files I've had to do, I've gotten virtually nowhere with Spyro Prime, other than what I've already done. The bad news is that Part 4 is still under constuction, but the good news is that in the meantime, I've worked on the Cast of Characters page revealing just who Y.K.W. is, as well as some further background information on the ShadowLands. Also included in that bundle of an update will be the backstory of Spyro Prime, tying in with a very unlikely source...
But, of course, none of that SP work is up yet. You'll just have to drool all over yourself until I finish the two Spyro pics and am able to fully upload that particular bundle. Ain't I a stinker?
Finally, I have just joined the Spyro Top Sites group on a trial basis. I strongly insist on a centralization of Spyro sites since there are so few of them (or at least of GOOD ones), and this will help in that centralization. Please click on the button below.
December 9, 2000 WOO! Just finished knocking the crap out of Spyro 3, game-wise. Either I'm getting better or those boys made it too easy... usually, it takes me a year or so before I utterly complete a Spyro game. (Speaking of which, I'm still missing three orbs in Spyro 2 and the Perfect Ripto skill point... I'll get those later after tonight's party)
Anyway, enough about me... is it just me, or have my recent updates been... abrupt? ;-) In any case, I've got a lot of good stuff to tell you about recent site updates:
The first thing is that Part 3
of Spyro Prime, Storms, Sands, and Spyros, is now up for
your reading enjoyment. The reason I take as long as I do to get these parts out is 1)
illustration of places/characters, 2) having too much fun (I've been playing a LOT of
Spyro 3 lately) and 3) agreeing with myself on an idea. As I've got a pretty loose mind, I
tend to shift ideas a bit, which means I've got to be careful against contradicting myself
for continuity's sake. This all takes time, people. The only other word I have is for those of you who visit fanfiction.net : Yours truly is going to be starting up a column there called
Corporate Bandwagon! And yes, Ted, I DID give the boys at Insomniac some good press. So don't worry about that.November 25, 2000 Part 2 of Spyro Prime, Wild Winds in the Whorl, is up.
November 22, 2000 Spyro Prime won the voting, and is now featured in the fanficton section. Also, the screenshots of Bryan, Brenda, and Dan are up in 'Little Things'.
November 7, 2000 Okay, time is almost up to vote... as I am typing this, Spyro Prime is in the lead by a couple of votes. So EVERY VOTE STILL COUNTS! Up and at 'em, people! VOTE NOW!
October 31, 2000 Since it's halloween night, you're in for a fright... THE DEADLINE TO VOTE IS NOV.7! Go to the Fanfiction section (?) for more info.
There is a contest in the works, but I'm waiting until voting is over. So start drooling.
Finally, if you're looking for the link to SpyroManiacs so you can sign up, it's on the index page. if that's not good enough for you, join here.
October 14, 2000 Minor updates this time (sorry). Firstly, update yer bookmarks: The Care and Feeding of Young Dragons has just turned into SpyroHints.com. Some of you may recognize one of the 'General' links in the goodies section...
The second order of business is about a new mailing list for your convienence... "SpyroManiacs". Join today, and save yourself the travesty of having to visit EVERY SINGLE DAY just to check if I updated or not. ;-)
October 8, 2000 Because I know that there have been over 400 hits here, but only 5 people who have repsonded to the poll, I think I need to coax everyone into voting soon. First off, the poll is located at the bottom of the page in the '?' section. So if you've been looking, look no further.
Secondly, I have redone the '?' page to reduce bias (I think I was leaning too heavily towards Dragon's Jubilee), and also added a new episode to Spyro Prime. Finally, I have added a fourth response to the poll to the tune of 'you like both stories'.
September 29, 2000 Before I have to take a well-needed break from the site for the High Holy Days, I decided to give you guys something new to do with your Spyro 2 games, which you've all no doubt completed to 100% and earned all sixteen skill points... *readers groan* Well, close to it, anyway.... (98% and fifteen points for me, in case you're wondering ^_^;) Look in the new Little Things section for more info.
Secondly, I want to make sure those that are coming to my site aren't JUST Insomniac employees surfing when they should be working... not that I don't love you guys, but I don't want to be the one responsible if Spyro 3's release date is delayed. All the same, I'll be putting up a visitor's roster in Dragon Arena... fill it out under the appropiate reply. Please?
P.S. I'm not SAYING any of the Insomniac employees are checking out this site on company time (don't have the capability to tell, anyhow) but you know who you are if you've been doing it.September 16, 2000 *blinks* over two months without an update? Man, no wonder my counter stats are in the tubes... but that's beside the point.
Although I've only been getting one person a week lately, one of those was an important visitor... namely, Ted Price, the President of Insomniac Games. Thankfully, Insomniac is a VERY cool company about fansites, and they love the place! Now I'll get more people over here because they're linking to me from their site (so now I'm affiliated! Yay!), AND I'm also getting a free copy of Spyro 3. Just goes to show you a thing or two... especially since they did this all on their own!
I think I'm going to close down the contest section for now. With what little action I've seen lately, there's no contestants FOR the contest. Besides, I've got to actually start thinking up what to do for suitable prizes...
On a final note, since those of you who can find your way here aren't voting on the stories, I've added two segments to Dragon's Jubilee to help you decide: An Impossible Scenario and The Thieves' Challenge. If you haven't voted, VOTE already!
July 15, 2000 We're back! I
think I have things straight now... I've reworked the nav panel of the site so it's
friendlier to more resolutions, I've halted work on Spyro Prime (click on the
"?" to find out what I'm doing instead), and I'm in a better mood than I was
when I closed the site. I think I was having PMS or somethin' when I did that.
I've also come up with a new logo for the site! Why some odd pointer-shaped thing in Spyro's colors, and not Spyro himself? Well, I felt like this was better. Why is this logo better? One word: ADIDAS. They have abstract logos why can't I?
May 20, 2000 Well, you'll never have to hear me whine about taking too long ever again... go see Spyro Prime for why.
May 4, 2000 NO, I have not started working on Draconis Dojo, page-wise. I've gotten so far as to design the native characters and fodder... I just need to put it all together. But I'm working, trust me. ^_^ I don't sketch in math class for nothing.
In other news, I have a new contest up, as well as a new page. What is the new page? Look around for yourself...
April 30, 2000 Did I or did I not say these things took time? I have Draco Reaches, the first hub for Spyro Prime, up and running. None of the supporting worlds are up. though. I'll be able to work a little faster when I get school out of the way, but don't bet on anything just quite yet. There's the writing to be done, plus the ring tasks, snapshot of the realm, characters inside the realm... get the idea so far?
Also, there's a poll down at Spyro Prime. How about you go there and answer it? Remember, when I say 'One realm at a time' it means one realm, like 'Stone Hill'. 'One hub at a time' Means a place like Autumn Plains... with all it's dependant realms complete as well. Don't expect updates to be quick if I do it one hub at a time.
April 16, 2000 I've been busting my tail this weekend on IIWfI... the Introduction for Spyro Prime is up. Don't expect actual gameplay to start for a few more days... I have to get the Draco Reaches hub up before we can start on individual worlds... and of course, figure out just how to make the game...
Hey, these things take time, people.
April 15, 2000 Sadiki's pic has been recolored for accuracy, and ShadowSadiki's pic is up. Just need to do Reena before we can start the game. We may also have a contest ready by the end of this weekend... stay tuned. Also, I have finally reached Gnasty's Loot in Spyro. *YAY*
Later We have Reena up! Expect the start of Spyro Prime to come tommorow, if I'm lucky!
April 11, 2000 Sparx, ShadowSparx, and Sadiki added to the cast list. Just two more dragons to do before we can start the game...
March 18, 2000 The last few days have been spent in minor tweakings and other various stuff. Spyro and ShadowSpyro are now listed in the cast of Spyro Prime (if you haven't seen it, do so), and I'm working on getting counters, guestbooks, etc.
March 14, 2000 Launch Date! Woohoo! After weeks of thinking it over, IIWfI (not the most creative acronym, but hey) is becoming a reality! Will we last? Will fans love us? Will I be able to maintain this site? Is Insomniac going to be a cruelhearted company and issue a C&D just as soon as this place begins to take off? Who knows? Let's hope this place works out for the best...
